But DeepL has a twist most “cheapest country” articles miss: the company sells the same Individual plan on its own website, and the web price in the US undercuts most app-store storefronts anyway.

The spread is real but modest compared with streaming or AI chat services. Nobody prices DeepL at a 70% discount; the whole range from cheapest to US is about $3.26 a month.
The web checkout changes the math
DeepL sells Pro directly at deepl.com/pro. The Individual plan there runs about $8.74/month billed annually (checked Aug 2026), versus $10.49 monthly through the US App Store. Two consequences:
- If you were going to pay annually anyway, the US web price beats every storefront in the table except Indonesia and Turkey — with zero region-switching.
- The app-store discounts above are monthly prices. Annual in-app billing exists too (roughly $104.99 in the US), but Apple’s cut means the web almost always wins on annual.
If you just want the cheapest legitimate DeepL, the honest answer is: web checkout, annual billing, your own country. The geo game only matters if you insist on monthly billing.
Can I use a VPN to get cheaper DeepL?
A VPN can load an Indonesian pricing page. It cannot issue an Indonesian payment method. The app-store storefront follows your Apple ID country and your card, not your IP — and DeepL’s own web checkout bills your card’s country too. Will my account get banned?
Region-shopping an app-store price is a terms issue, not a crime. DeepL can close accounts that hop storefronts, and the practical damage is losing the subscription and the login attached to it.
