Which country is cheapest for Runway?

All 41 rows were verified Aug 29, 2026 from the Apple App Store listings. The whole spread runs from $13.96 (Indonesia) to $22.25 (Hungary). Unlike ChatGPT Plus or Netflix, Runway never built a deep-purchase-power tier: there is no $4 India price hiding further down the table. The maximum you can save by switching countries is about 37% before tax — modest, and worth weighing against the hassle.

Wait — isn’t annual billing the real cheapest option?
Often, yes. Two things competitors miss:
- The web checkout undercuts the app. Runway’s pricing page (runway.com/pricing, checked Aug 2026) lists Standard at $12/month billed annually — about 20% off the $15 monthly rate. $12 is lower than Indonesia’s $13.96 monthly, with zero region-switching.
- Runway does not geo-price the web. The Stripe checkout charges roughly the same USD list price everywhere. The cheap-country game only exists inside the App Store table above.
So the honest decision tree: staying a year or more → pay annually on the website. Monthly and genuinely flexible with an Indonesian or Pakistani Apple ID → the table applies. Anything in between → stay home; the savings do not buy the trouble.
Can I use a VPN to get cheaper Runway?
A VPN can load an Indonesia page. It does not issue an Indonesian payment method. The App Store follows the account country and the card, not your IP. On the website: Runway bills through Stripe. Their help center article “What payment methods are available?” (help.runwayml.com, checked Aug 2026) lists credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Cash App Pay, and US-only instant bank payments — availability varies by location. This path charges the standard USD price; it is how you get the annual discount, not a regional one.
If you need a network in Indonesia only to reach that storefront, that is a separate product. It does not replace a local payment method.
Will my account get banned?
It is usually a terms issue, not a crime. Providers can still close accounts that hop regions. Do not buy a gray-market login — shared workspaces also share one credit pool, so a cheap “5-seat” reseller login often means someone else burned your generations.
