Why India pays above-US for AI software
Streaming services price to Indian purchasing power because their marginal cost per subscriber is near zero and local competition is brutal. Training and serving large AI models is different: compute is expensive, capacity is finite, and OpenAI has no Indian rival forcing its hand the way Hotstar forces Netflix’s.
