Crunchyroll India starts at ₹99 per month for the Fan plan — $1.03 at our 29 Aug 2026 verification date, roughly 90% below the $9.99 US price. Mega Fan sits at ₹119 a month after February’s increase, and the annual Mega Fan offer remains the standout deal: it was cut from ₹999 to ₹475 a year in July 2025 (about ₹40 a month), though the February 2026 global price update raised it again alongside the monthly tiers.
This guide explains the Indian lineup and how to actually pay for it. The raw, dated country-by-country numbers live on the live Crunchyroll price board for India — here we explain how the plans differ rather than repeating the table.
What each Crunchyroll plan includes
| Plan | Monthly price (INR) | Streams | Offline downloads | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fan | ₹99 | 1 | No | One person, ad-free anime only |
| Mega Fan | ₹119 | 4 | Yes (4 devices) | Households and anyone who downloads |
| Ultimate Fan | Not sold in India | 4 | Yes | US-only extras (swag credit, con perks) |
The jump from Fan to Mega Fan is just ₹20, and it buys you three extra simultaneous streams, offline viewing, and the game vault. For almost everyone that makes Mega Fan the sensible pick — Fan exists mostly as the advertised entry price. Ultimate Fan, the top tier with merchandise credit and convention discounts, has generally not been offered in the Indian lineup; if you see it in your checkout, treat it as new rather than standard.
One honest caveat on the table: monthly rupee figures reflect press reports and reader reports around the 2 February 2026 update plus our own App Store verification of the Fan tier. Annual pricing moves separately, so confirm the current annual Mega Fan figure at checkout before paying.
What changed: July 2025 cut, then February 2026 hike
India’s Crunchyroll story over the past year is a cut followed by a partial claw-back:
- July 2025: Crunchyroll slashed the Annual Mega Fan plan to ₹475 for the first year, down from ₹999 — reported exclusively by IGN India on 1 July 2025. That worked out to under ₹40 a month, briefly making India one of the cheapest anime markets in the world on an absolute basis.
- 2 February 2026: A global pricing update raised every monthly plan. In the US, Fan went from $7.99 to $9.99; in India, readers reported Fan moving from ₹79 to ₹99 and Mega Fan from ₹99 to ₹119 — a roughly 25% step-up that also touched the promotional annual rate.
Even after the increase, India remains extraordinary value in dollar terms. Among the 32 countries with verified Crunchyroll rows on our 29 Aug 2026 check, only Pakistan ($1.01) is cheaper than India ($1.03); Turkey follows at $1.46 and Philippines at $16.16. The full ranking is on cheapest country for Crunchyroll.
How do I actually pay for Crunchyroll from India?
Three doors, each with different fine print:
- Indian cards on crunchyroll.com — Visa, Mastercard, and Amex issued in India work at the web checkout. Crunchyroll’s help center explicitly rejects prepaid cards and runs a postal-code fraud check, so use a real bank card.
- UPI-adjacent reality check — unlike local streamers, Crunchyroll does not support UPI autopay or netbanking directly. If your only payment rail is UPI, the workarounds are an app-store subscription billed to your Google Play or Apple ID balance topped up via UPI.
- Amazon Prime channel add-on — Crunchyroll is available as an add-on channel inside Prime Video in India, historically priced at ₹79 a month. It bills through Amazon alongside your Prime membership, supports Indian payment methods including UPI where your Amazon account allows it, and is often the cheapest door into the full catalog. The catch: content lives inside Prime Video, without Mega Fan perks like offline downloads or the standalone apps’ full feature set.
What does not work: PayPal tied to a foreign billing agreement frequently fails Crunchyroll’s checks, and no official Crunchyroll gift cards exist anywhere. If you are comparing against other services, note that Netflix Standard in India costs ₹499 — nearly five times Crunchyroll Fan — which we break down in Netflix vs Crunchyroll price.
The honest note: your price follows your account, not your VPN
If you already have a Crunchyroll account registered in another country, connecting through an Indian server changes nothing about your bill. Prices lock to the account’s signup country and its payment method. Moving countries means cancelling and re-registering with local credentials, and accounts whose signup country and payment method badly disagree can be flagged during renewal checks.
The flip side: almost nobody in India needs to bother. At ₹99 a month — verified $1.03 on 29 Aug 2026, about 90% below US pricing — the domestic lineup is already among the best value Crunchyroll offers anywhere.
