Turkey used to be the default answer for cheap PlayStation Plus. That shortcut is dead, and we will not pretend a marketplace code reopened it.

Three facts, in order:

  • Late 2023: Sony wanted a Turkey-issued payment method on the Turkish store. Foreign cards started failing.
  • Ever since: Sony never sold official Turkish PSN gift cards. Xbox Turkey still has Microsoft gift credit. Spotify gift cards are dead worldwide. Netflix Turkey still has TRY codes. PSN Turkey has none.
  • We have not dated a TRY Plus cell. Confirm store.playstation.com yourself. We will not copy a press lira into the table.

Cheapest Extra we do date: South Africa R149 / $9.17 versus US $16.99, 29 Aug 2026. India Extra is ₹979 / $10.22. Live chips: PlayStation Plus in India. Xbox’s different Turkey wallet: Xbox Game Pass Turkey gift card. Matrix: /how-to-pay/.

Dated Extra cells (not a Turkey column)

Country Extra (dated 29 Aug 2026) USD vs US
South Africa R149 $9.17 −46%
India ₹979 $10.22 −40%
UAE AED 13.49 $13.49 −21%
Singapore S$17.90 $14.03 −17%
United Kingdom £11.99 $16.25 −4%
United States $16.99 $16.99 —

We date Extra, not Essential, not Deluxe. Turkey is empty on purpose. Do not paste Netflix India’s Standard rupee onto this Extra cell — that was a different merchant.

Why the Xbox Turkey page does not apply here

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in Turkey is TRY 529 / $11.04, dated 29 Aug 2026, on a Microsoft vendor page. Apple gift credit is false for Xbox. Microsoft gift credit can fund that wallet.

Sony did not ship the matching PSN card for Turkey. Marketplace “TRY PSN codes” are not an official storefront product. Chargebacks claw them back after you redeem. Activation services log into your account. That is why you should not buy cheap accounts on G2A.

If you still try Turkey anyway

  1. Create a new Turkey-region PSN account. Region is fixed at birth.
  2. Fund it with a Turkey-issued method. There is no official gift-card step.
  3. Plus entitlements stay on that identity. Your main account’s library does not move.

We stop recommending at step 2. The savings versus South Africa Extra at $9.17 are not worth a second account plus gray-market wallet risk, especially with no dated TRY cell to even measure the gap.

What to do instead

If you want cheaper Extra with a dated cell, South Africa is first, India is second. Both still want locally issued payment. Sony will not let you flip an existing US account’s country.

Nintendo Switch Online is a different eShop wallet — do not assume a PSN Turkey story copies there: Nintendo Switch Online by country. How we leave unverified lira unpublished: methodology.
