So yes, the Turkish deal is real and still alive. But the gift card is only half of it: a Turkish Xbox code funds a Turkey-region Microsoft account and nothing else. It will not touch a US subscription, and getting a Turkey-region account is where most people get stuck.
What the card actually funds
Microsoft accounts have a country, and that country decides your storefront and your Game Pass price list. Redeeming a Turkish Xbox or Microsoft gift code adds lira balance to an account whose region is already Turkey. On a US, UK, or EU account the same code simply fails. There is no conversion form.
That leads to four consequences:
- Your US Game Pass is untouched. A Turkish code added to a US account never lands. The US renewal stays $22.99.
- A second account is the practical path if your main Microsoft identity lives elsewhere. Consoles hold multiple accounts fine; libraries, entitlements, and friends lists do not merge.
- Tiers stay tiers. Core, Standard, and Ultimate are separate plans. Wallet credit pays for whichever you subscribe to — check the name before you confirm.

Two things competitors get wrong here. First, many still rank Argentina first — but Microsoft closed new Argentine Game Pass signups in 2025, so that row is a legacy situation, not a method. How redemption works when the regions match
If you already have a Turkey-region Microsoft account:
- Buy a Turkish gift code from a seller that actually issues Turkish store credit. Retailer-country mismatch is the most common cause of “invalid code”.
- Redeem at Microsoft’s redeem page signed into that account, and confirm the balance currency before subscribing.
- Subscribe to Game Pass on the Turkish storefront and read the plan name carefully.
- Keep your main account as the Home console setup if you share a box — the Turkish account is a guest identity with its own entitlements.
If you do not have a Turkey-region account, this is the honest part: changing a Microsoft account’s country is deliberately restricted. Microsoft’s support pages say you can change region at most once every three months, only with no active subscriptions attached, and your wallet balance does not follow you. Microsoft frames the feature for people who actually moved — using it as a discount mechanism is against the spirit of the rule and carries whatever enforcement risk Microsoft decides to apply. One warning worth its own paragraph: listings for a “ready Turkish Game Pass account, instant delivery” are somebody else’s login. You do not control the recovery email, and sellers reclaim accounts after chargebacks.
