Mostly yes on Basic — and no on the two bigger ExpressVPN tiers. We checked expressvpn.com/pricing in August 2026.
Basic sells at $83.72 for the first 28 months, then autorenews at $99.95/year. Advanced bills $125.72 up front, then renews at $119.95. Pro bills $209.72, then renews at $199.95. Nord’s $139.08 Basic renewal and Surfshark’s ~$79 Starter year are other merchants.
Apple monthly cheapest is Egypt EGP 249.99 / $4.96. Turkey monthly is ₺239.99 / $5.01. US monthly is $12.99. Rails: /how-to-pay/.
Intro versus renewal on the website
| Tier | First term | Renews at | Direction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $83.72 / 28 months | $99.95/year | up |
| Advanced | $125.72 | $119.95/year | down |
| Express Pro | $209.72 | $199.95/year | down |
Basic’s $99.95 year is about $8.33/month against a $2.99-style headline. Advanced and Pro are the unusual VPN loyalty story: renewal is a small discount, not a trap.
Auto-renew is on by default. Turn it off in the website dashboard and you keep the term you paid for. Month-to-month is $12.99 with no intro to lose.
Bonus months are first-term padding. “2 years + 4 months” is 28 months at intro math, then the yearly line on your checkout. Do not divide by 32 and call it the ongoing price.
Crypto was pulled from checkout even though an older Bitcoin page still ranks.
Apple cells — Egypt year, Czechia ceiling
Dated 29 Aug 2026. Separate catalog from the website promo ladder:
| Storefront | Monthly | 12-month |
|---|---|---|
| Egypt | EGP 249.99 = $4.96 | EGP 3,949.99 = $78.38 |
| Turkey | ₺239.99 = $5.01 | ₺4,499.99 = $93.88 |
| Pakistan | Rs1,850 = $6.68 | Rs24,900 = $89.89 |
| Brazil | R$49.90 = $9.59 | R$584.90 = $112.39 |
| Indonesia | Rp189,000 = $10.60 | Rp1,699,000 = $95.28 |
| India | ₹1,049 = $10.95 | ₹9,900 = $103.39 |
| United States | $12.99 | $99.99 |
| Czechia | 359 Kč = $17.24 | 2,790 Kč = $134.00 |
Egypt year $78.38 is the cheap Apple year (−22% vs US $99.99). Czechia year $134.00 is the expensive one. Turkey monthly looks cheap; Turkey year $93.88 is only a small cut versus US year.
Pakistan monthly Rs1,850 is this merchant. Nord Pakistan monthly is Rs3,900. Mixing those two cells is how comparison pages lie.
Apple Express renews at the storefront list, not at website Basic $99.95. A tunnel does not recode Egypt EGP 249.99 onto a US Apple ID.
