Nigeria is cheapest for YouTube Premium Individual at ₦2,200 / $1.63 versus US $20.99, dated 29 Aug 2026. Family is ₦3,600 / $2.66. India Individual on Apple is ₹289 ($3.02) — still above Lagos. Two doors: the dated cells are Apple; youtube.com memberships follow the Google payments-profile country and can take Play credit and a naira card when that country is Nigeria. Those doors do not share a receipt.

We will not print an undated youtube.com naira next to ₦2,200. Live chips: YouTube Premium in Nigeria. Split: iOS vs web. Matrix: /how-to-pay/. India rails: how to pay for YouTube Premium in India.

Apple cell: Play credit is false

On the dated Apple Individual cell, a Nigeria-issued card, Apple Pay, or Nigeria-store Apple credit can pay. Play gift cards do not settle that Apple ID. If you subscribed inside the iPhone app by mistake, cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions, wait out the paid period, then resubscribe on youtube.com if you want the Google-billed door. Do not run both.

Spotify Nigeria Individual is ₦1,600 on a website merchant — Apple gift cards false there too, but for a different reason: Spotify is not an Apple product. YouTube Apple-billed is Apple. Matching-storefront Apple credit can pay the Apple YouTube cell. Mixing those two naira stories is how a fake twin gets written.

Google-billed door: Play country must be Nigeria

  1. Payments country = Nigeria on the Google profile, not the UI language.
  2. Fund it with a Nigeria-issued card (Verve is listed on Google’s Nigerian Play help), or Nigeria-denominated Play codes at play.google.com/redeem.
  3. Subscribe on youtube.com or Android, not inside iOS, if you want that door.
  4. Confirm ₦. Dollars means the wrong country.

Play codes are country-locked. Test one small Nigeria code before loading a year. Bank FX caps on naira cards loosened in 2025; a decline can still be the quarterly cap, not Google rejecting Nigeria.

A US Play code is inventory for the US store. India’s rupee credit will never redeem here.

If you do not live in Nigeria, attaching this storefront to a main Gmail is how leftover Play credit gets stranded. This page is the Lagos checkout, not a tunnel recipe.
