SheerID, not Google

Google does not check enrollment itself. YouTube’s help page sends you to SheerID. Instant school-name match, then documents: enrolment letter, schedule, or transcript showing full-time study at an approved institution. If the school is not in SheerID’s database, there is no student plan, regardless of your ID card.

The trial, when shown, counts inside the four-year window. Canceling and rejoining does not reset the clock.

Why the student lever is a US-expensive-storefront tool

In Nigeria, Egypt, and Pakistan, ordinary Individual already sits a few dollars. Paying SheerID tax to get “half off” America is the wrong comparison. The student discount is a lever inside an expensive country, not a cheapest-country recipe.
